One of the key practical requirements for these first-time homeowners was to have a home that captured the most sun for their site location.
The position of the home, the number of well placed windows and the large deck (which extends out from the lounge creating a second living space), meant maximum sun was achieved.
One of the features of this home is the vertical timber cladding, including hidden fixings. The earthy tones of the timber cladding tie in well with the timber deck and the fencing, making it right at home across from the beach!
Andrew and Julie Bishop were building their first home. Their new home had to have space for when they started a family. It also had to accommodate the pair working from home when they needed to. As well as that, the home needed allocated areas and storage for their outdoor passions such as surfing, biking, fishing and other sporting activities.
Andrew and Julie came to us with some ideas about what they were looking for but didn’t have any design plans. We worked through their ideas with them, giving them suggestions to allow them to get the perfect home for their lifestyle. We then organised our architect to draw the plans.
