Guy and Rosemary Protheroe knew exactly the look they wanted to create with their four-bedroom home. This included encapsulating the beautiful scenery of their surroundings. We enjoyed working alongside them throughout the project to make sure the end result was one they loved!
During the build process energy efficiency was a priority for the couple; this was achieved by the insulation used in the walls, ceiling, slab and the upgrade to Solace Low EGlass.
This home has a number of additional features too, but a standout is the use of different textures throughout the home, including negative detailing ply, square plaster finish and a ruff block wall at the entrance of the home. Also the use of oversize windows and doors takes advantage of the stunning views.
Moving to the Bay of Plenty from Wellington, Guy and Rosemary were looking for somewhere they could retire. They wanted to build their forever home and found a perfect spot in Te Puna.
The vision was to create a place they could call home and to cater for entertaining and having friends stay.
Guy is an experienced landscape designer and planner so knew exactly what he wanted. He teamed up with Insignia Design and Architecture to perfect his design plans.
While their home was being built, Guy and Rosemary were living locally in Maungatapu. They were often onsite where we could walk them through the progress of the build.
