Wayne and Jenny Johnson owned a large property in Mt Maunganui. They lived out of town but would often come to Mt Maunganui to visit family. So they decided to add a second dwelling to the property – a two-bedroom home that would be ideal for when they came to stay.
Longer term the additional dwelling offers an opportunity for supporting income through renting, or an attractive asset to be included if the property was to be sold.
While they knew they wanted a small two-bedroom home that was easy to maintain, they asked for our help with the design plans. And for ideas on how to be most creative with the space - what we created is an ideal ‘Weekender!’
Wayne and Jenny don’t live locally so they were able to continue on with their day to day lives, while we continued on with the build. We kept them updated on the project regularly and caught up with them when they visited to show them the progress.
